Working towards maintaining a healthy lymphatic system is a great ideas for a lot of reasons. First, it can help prevent diseases and infections by flushing your body of toxins and boosting your immune system. We don’t want to be waisting PTO days because we keep getting sick. It also can reduce the appearance of puffiness and inflammation, something I sometimes struggle with.
Remember, I am not an expert. To me this is all common sense. This is information comes from my own research that can be easily validated with a quick google search. If you would like expert Lymph System information I highly recommend this book.

Using a toll such as a dry brush or gua sha can help move lymph fluid like a massage. You want to be sure you are gentle and brush towards your heart. Read my blog post here that is all about my lymphatic drainage tools.
Move your body, get your heart pumping and your lymph system should start like a well oiled machine.
A healthy weight looks different for every one. But be aware that obesity can damage the lymph system. Your lymph fluid can get stuck and not drain properly.
Deep and effective breathing will not only help calm and center you but it can also stimulate your lymph system.
Eating lots of green vegetables, berries, and healthy fats can support your lymph system to effectively filter and drain toxins out of your body.
Tight clothing in the armpit area such as a tight bra can restrict flow to the lymph nodes near your arm pits.
Treat yourself to a lymphatic drainage massage. Make sure you take before and after pictures and be amazed by the results. Remember the decreased inflammation from a lymphatic drainage massage are temporary.
Heating the body will dilate your blood vessels and cooling it down will contract your blood vessels. This will simulate a pump for your lymph fluid. You can do this by going from a sauna to ice bath or cold shower or just ending your hot shower with a few minutes of cold water. I am personally working on this, major props to anyone who can withstand the cold water for more than 10 secs!
Foam rolling is a great activity for many reasons. It is primarily used for muscle recovery and stretching, but rolling out your muscles also helps move your lymphatic fluid. I highly encourage you to find a way to make daily foam rolling a habit!
